the history of skyline park

“landscapes…often die quiet deaths.”

denver's skyline park was originally designed by pioneering landscape architect lawrence halprin, who's most famous for his work on freeway park in seattle, and the fdr memorial in washington, DC.

a new book by ann komara, ASLA, a professor at CU-Denver, goes through the process of design and construction of the park, as well as the eventual "death" of this prime example of mid-century modern landscape architecture.

more info is available at the asla's blog post, and the book is available on amazon.
