roof garden / 39th + tennyson

we were given the task of designing three separate levels of community gathering for this residential project in the berkeley neighborhood of denver. to accomplish this we designed a first floor space that embraces and connects the community to the street and sidewalk. the goal was to make the first floor the most public and dynamic in function. the second floor deck space is intended to be the most private for residents and integrates lush and intense green plantings, soft furnishings, and framed views of the city. the highest space - the third floor deck is intended to make a bold and dramatic statement and accommodates 360 views of the denver skyline. this space is also intended to be flexible and fosters socialization among residents.
